Less than a mile and a half from home on a steet with 30 mph speed limit a woman in a cage comes to a stop sign on a side street in front of me.  No turn signal and she was not coming to a complete stop.  I thought to myself, "this don't look good".  She pulled out right in front of me going straight across the street I was on.  I hit the back brake hard then the front brake a nano second later.  She then saw me and  stopped right in front of me.  My ABS worked great and it was a very close miss.  While I was completely stopped, I heard tires screeching and a loud thump thump directly behind me as another cage took off over the curb on my right rear and slid through someones yard.  @@#$%^&*()_  Pucker Effect!!!  I thought most accidents happen less than a mile from your house..  You are not safe anywhere.

Holy sheep shit! There it is. The scenario that scares the bejebus outta me and gave springer the ammo for his signature. Really glad you skated past that close one. Could have ended you in a bad way quick bro.

I'm really glad to hear that everyone dodged those bullets.
Also see FLD's post just doesn't matter
You were fortunate the driver behind was halfway paying attention. The fact that he/she/it/they ran into the yard tellls me he/she/it/they were following too closely.
Yeah, I try to always check my six, but when the hazard directly ahead requires full and immediate attention and action, what's behind sort of gets lost in the moment.
When you get off the bike and see a hole pinched in the seat cover, you know you've had a true Pucker moment!

This is my Harley. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My Harley is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it, as I must master my life. Without me my Harley is useless. Without my Harley I am useless
