Well....I have another "True" story to tell. A true life changing experience for me . I dont know how interested people are into reading these types of things , but it sure makes one feel better to release the thoughts kept in about such "life changing experiences" .
     This happened 3 years ago . A friend and I were heading to Daytona Bike Week in the Spring. Although I was a little pumped having never been to Daytona , I was also a little aprehincive knowing it is going to be sssoooo crowded there. Also my friend has a history of bad luck and accidents . We were going to meet about a dozen friends there and camp out for a week. We were traveling in his truck , pulling our bikes in a trailor . We had that truck and trailor loaded to the hilt. Tent , canopy , firewood , miller lite , ribs on dry ice , poker chips , grill , chairs , you name it , that riig was loaded down.
     We had been driving all day. At about 8:00 pm after dark , we were cruising at about 65 mph in the slow lane on I75 (I think) rite about Jacksonville,Fla. My friend was doing a fine job driving and we had been driving for so long that at that point we were'nt saying a whole lot , just riding and listening to music . Then all of the sudden I can hear tires scwalling . My sub-consious mind was saying "that caint be good" since the other side of the interstate was about a hunderd yards away. As soon as heard it , I looked at my buddys mirror and could see that car lights rite beside us were goin ever which a way . Someone was wipeing out rite beside on the damn interstate !
     My friend was driving with one arm on the wheel and aint heard or seen nothing. I grabbed him by the arm and as soon as I got "HEY MAN" out of my mouth, someone hit us rite in wheel of the trailor. That impact caused the trailor to tip up and dig in the shoulder, thus causing the truck and trailor to quickly flip and roll. I like to think that because I saw it coming, as soon as the rig rolled,the glass and dirt hit me rite in the face and  I went  down to HUG the console ASAP. The truck and trailor must have rolled at least a dozen times down the bank, into the swamp, and into the treeline. Everything was destroyed. Miller lites, poker chips, ribs ect. was strowed out a quarter mile. Both bikes stayed in the trailor, but were mangled up in a knot. The truck was completley destroyed. My friend was knocked out cold by something from the backseat.He also was cut up badly from both wrists all the way up to his neck. As for me, I didnt even have a scratch on me. But later i did feel like i had a ass wuppen.
     Needless to say, we did not make it to Daytona.We got a room once he was released from the hospital that nite, then rented a car and drove home nearly empty handed. Come to find out that a 20 year old girl came up behind us doing over 100 mph in the slow lane, intending on cutting someone else in the fast lane, dropped her cell phone, then drove rite off into the median (grass) which started her wipeout.

      I still today have people ask me, "Why did you ride with him"?      I'm not a highly religious man, but I do believe in the lord. I feel that everything happens for a reason. Hell, I'm livin' rite and I aint gonna let any "what ifs" keep me from doing anything that I want to do. I'm certainly not feerless, and I believe the Lord was with me that nite. That was truely a "Life Changing Experience" for me that I will never forget.  {17}

          Sorry for the long windedness.

Yes, we were very lucky. I remember driving back home in rental feeling cheated or maybe more like I just got out of prison.

It figures. Oh well, though it is doubtful, maybe she learned something. I hope so.
