I guess I'll go ahead and throw another log on the fire, too.
Someone I use to work with in Sylacauga (he got canned during the big layoff recently) hit a LARGE dog while on his very nice H-D cruiser. The dog darted out in front of him and he didin't even have time to apply brakes. The impact of the dog broke his wrist from the bars snapping sharply and, of course, he was hurt in other areas from the tumble after the bike went down. Of course NO ONE claimed ownership of the well fed and well kept dog, but all of the sorry neighbors wouldn't rat on the shit-head that let the dog go loose either.
The dog was not killed on top of that!! Sylacauga PD did NOTHING to try to find the responsible party, treating it like it was just another deer. I LOVE dogs, have had dogs all of my life, but DAMN-IT! You HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE for them.

Sorry to hear that man, hope you recover fast.Loose dogs are a major peeve of mine.Last year when we still lived in Bessemer we had issues with a neighbor's dogs chasing my wife and I on our bikes and almost making my wife wreck.I told the dude if he didn't keep them in his yard were gonna have problems but he didn't take me serious. The last straw was when on of them chased my youngest daughter from the bus stop all the way home, needless to say it's dead now.

thanks everyone.
i went and looked at the bike today and its pretty messed up. apperently it flipped straight over because the tank issmashed in from the top, both mirrors are gone and the rear fender is broken. i think every piece of plastic is broken/scratched up. the hendelbars are broken too. hopefully it will be totalled so i can buy a new one. Its at Big #1 now .
it's hard to type with one hand, especially when its my left hand.

I hope you get well soon. I have run over a small dog before. I turned around and stopped in case the owner wanted to dicuss me running over his dog. The funniest thing about this dog is that is was three legged, which makes it too stoooopid to be alive.
