3 of us met that the Raceway station on 280 this morning at 9 AM and rode down Hwy 25, back  up through Pell City, Alexandria, Jacksonville, and to Centre.  We had lunch in Centre, topped off with gas and headed up to Little River Canyon.  Intended to ride backroad back from there, but we were running out of time, so we cut back through Ft Payne, hopped on I-59 and skedaddled back to da 'Ham.  Got back around 4 pm.

This was only my 2nd real ride on my '07 VFR800 and I am SOLD!  One of the other guys that rode with us was also on a VFR and the other guy was on an '07 GSX-R 750.  The GSX-R rider was hurting by the end of the day, especially after the long bumpy ride on I-59.  Other than just a bit of shoulder pain, which is just an old age thing  old , I ended the day feeling great.  We only rode about 275 miles today.

I wanted to post this up but we intentionally wanted to keep it very controlled as none of us had ridden much lately.  I'm going to try to do at least one ride month this year either leading or riding with others.

I'm up in Jacksonville pretty regularly.  I have 2 in school at JSU...one's about to graduate (YAY!)   respect  The other is a sophomore.  My son is the senior and he rides as well.

There are some EXCELLENT roads in that area.
