A friend of mine from Helena is starting production on a new TV show called "The Recycler Show". It's main premise is reconstructing vintage/junk/classic motorcycles into something that's both rideable and beautiful.
He actually has set-up a Facebook fan page, but thought I would take the time to tell you guys/ladies about this.
From the Recycler Show Facebook Fan Page:
"Looks like voting day for the Bikes will be Sunday March 21st from 2 until 4 at Barbers Motorsports Park. We will be filming the voting so tell everybody you can to come out and take a look at the bikes. More details to follow...."
If you're on Facebook, go find this and fan it so you can stay updated. If you love building bikes, get in touch with them and get involved! The guy that's doing this is named Mickey and he's a GREAT guy...very funny, very friendly.
I will be there on my yet-to-be-named new bike.

I just became a fan of the page. A friend and I was just discussing this concept the other day. I wonder if I have found a purpose for the KZ440.

Just to clarify...I misunderstood the comment about the KZ440, but, I know Mark and Mickey have talked and important things are happening. I think Mickey has actually joined BamaRides. Hopefully he will introduce himself.

I spoke with Mickey today. Things are shaping up. After talking with Mickey the word "impressed" comes to mind. The idea behind the show is to combine Junkyard Wars and Biker Build-off. If you are tired of seeing bikes built with limited imagination and unlimited budgets then The Recycler Show is going to blow your mind. The show appears to offer an answer to the questions "Can I really build a bike like that?" and "Can I really afford to build a bike like that?" Teams will compete to build a real rider out of bikes that most people overlook and they do it with a realistic budget. I hate to keep everyone in suspense about Bama Rides involvement but as soon as a few more details are worked out I will let you all in. The best I can do right now is to point you to the Facebook Fan site.

***UPDATE***
More information today from the show.
The total time on the build is Three Days. The actual build time that the the teams commit to is only 40hrs max. This may change for the home build version.
