Who'da thunkit? Copied from ldrider email list:

In addition to the premiere IBA issue, I also got my new "Motorcyclist".  AFTER skimming through the IBA mag, I looked through this one.

One page 10-11, there is an article of a new start-up company "Motus" that will be coming out with a ST (MST-01) that "is designed for serious sport-tourers who value comfort, performance and range."

Looks to be 1650cc V-4, like an american V-8, chain driven cam, pushrods targeting 140 hp/7800 rpm & 120 lb-ft/4500 rpm; 6 speed trans and chain final drive.

Tagged as "Engineered in Michigan, designed and built in Alabama", first production model hoped for 2011; pricepoint expected to be "in the range of a loaded BMW K1300GT".  Looks like a good layout from the pics except for the chain drive, but any diversity in the market would be good IMO.

Anyone heard of this bike?

Yeah we had discussed it. But I'm glad that you brought it back up. A group called Bamarides that dedicates itself to Alabama motorcycles needs to keep a close eye on any and all motorcycle companies that are or are considering locating in the state.

Ya think?  happy
Yeah, ok... I'm guilty. Hey, but y'all should be proud that there's someone like me who's not afraid to embarass and humiliate himself publicly this way.
And without benefit of alcohol or drugs!

(Maybe we should revisit the necromancy guidelines... I don't usually dive through old threads, since I don't wanna see the red-letter message. Then again, it's prolly just me.)

Personally, I enjoy and encourage folks to humiliate themselves here and in public - it makes the world more interesting.

My goal is to help you and everyone else achieve your goals of self-abasement

In addition, our necromancy guidelines are just that - guidelines.

They are, in general, only here for new folks, that typically come in and rummage thru 8-month old posts (mostly jokes) and make generally worthless comments that almost never warrant reviving the dead, smelly critters.

Most of the time it is better to start a new thread, but most any post can be revived with a simple apology such as:

" I hate to bring up this old thread, but...........[insert interesting addition]"

If you find yourself doing a lot of the above, perhaps you should start a new thread?

Anyone in FBR.  They're members, and good folks.  Greg and comp have had a couple lunches with them, and I've got some Milan porn from the big bike show there this year.   Cool

A few month ago i heard about a start up American motorcycle company called Motus.  They were supposed to be building a sport tourer in birmingham.  Now that Buell has gone under, im wondering what ever happened with Motus.  Anybody know?

IIRC, shortly after I pursued my "personal goals of self-abasement" (thanks, dredman), I received a reply email from someone at Motus thanking me for my interest, but they're not yet prepared to offer tours to us enthusiasts.
