Post an Event or Ride
Many people every week are asking “How can I get my ride/event on your calendar?”. The short answer is we do not allow non-members to post paid rides/events to the BamaRides calendar or forum. The long answer is there are many ways to get your event posted, and only one way is easy.
A. Become a regular, participating member, who engages in discussion, and donates their time and ideas to discussion about motorcycling
B. Get to know a regular member, and ask them to help you post your event
C. Email the details of your FREE ride/event to an administrator – Click Here
D. Make a donation (below) to the forum and we will post your PAY ride/event to the forum and calendar.
The philosophy behind our policy about posting follows our philosophy of riding in general:
- We feel you should not have to “pay to ride”
- With thousands of paid rides every year in Alabama, we can’t post them all, and we only show preference to our supporters and members.
- It is a privilege to post on BamaRides, one that is earned by participation
Our community is made up of a diverse group of motorcycle enthusiast that span the gamut of motorcycling interests. Bama Rides is a not-for-profit organization that is a public service to the Alabama Biking community. We do not charge a membership fee, nor do we advertise in the community boards. We are supported by member contributions, commercial supporters, and fund-raiser’s donations.
Frequently Asked Questions
“But my ride is a benefit ride, for a good cause, I should not have to pay?”
All benefit rides are a good cause to the folks organizing them
“There are other rides that are Pay Rides posted in the forum and on the calendar?”
Yes, there are.
“How do I become a regular member, to avoid the fee?”
Show us that you are interested in us as a community by participating honestly in our discussion about motorcycles, not about your cause.
“I just want to post the ride for information purposes?”
We would love to post your FREE ride/event also
“How can you justify charging folks for doing charity work?”
We are very sensitive to what we consider spam, and junk posting of paid events from folks who don’t know us, care about us, or want anything but for us to show up and shell out $15/head for the latest fundraiser. This may sound cold, but when you consider the hundreds of requests we receive, from people we don’t know, and will never hear from again until the next fund-raiser, it gets discouraging. So all we are asking is that you show us that you give a damn, and our community is worth something to your organization and efforts by choosing one of the 4 steps in yellow above.
